Building on a long tradition of accounting, business, economics and management teaching and research, Hull University Business School (HUBS) was formed in August 1999. Despite still being classed as relatively 'new' in comparison with some of the UK's other business schools, it is one of the most successful. Since its opening the school has grown year on year and now has over 2000 students and some 85 academic staff. As a full-service business school, HUBS delivers high quality, research-led teaching, business and management research, executive programmes and short courses, as well as consultancy services to the business community. Its mission is to be a customer-focused, full service business school contributing to the development of international business excellence and to serving its region. Having just moved to new premises on the Hull campus, the Business School now has brand-new, up-to-date facilities including dedicated computer suites, a management learning laboratory and a 500-seat lecture theatre. There are large library collections in business subjects along with significant electronic information resources and state-of-the-art ICT facilities and infrastructure. The extensive and sympathetic refurbishment of three listed buildings, which now house the school, provides an exciting and stimulating learning environment for students, staff and corporate clients. All of this, together with recent appointments of senior academic staff with international research reputations, the award of EQUIS accreditation, and a reputation for customer-focused student support means it is an excellent time to join this ambitious and expanding school, which is already amongst the best in the UK.
